Please read the submission guidelines with great care – submissions which do not follow them will be rejected unread.

We are seeking intelligent, well-written, page-turning novels across all genres except fantasy. We do not currently accept short stories, poetry or non-fiction.

We don't consider work in progress: please submit only when your novel is complete and you have finished your own edits. Please do not call or email us to check progress – you will hear from us once we have reached a decision. We aim to reply to all submissions within one month, but please note that it is not possible for us to give individual feedback on rejected submissions.

To maximise the chances of your work being considered:
- adhere to all of the word count limits stated below
- craft and polish your elevator pitch such that it makes us hungry to read your work
- ensure the opening page (c.250 words) makes us want to read the rest
- spell-check and grammar-check (we will likely not read on if there are schoolboy errors)

Please email submissions as follows:
- Single-sentence elevator pitch of no more than 25 words
- Synopsis of no more than 250 words, covering genre, audience and outline of story (beginning, middle, end)
- Opening chapter or equivalent (maximum 5000 words)

Everything should be in plain text in the body of the email (we do not open attachments).
